Any one know if the
Halcyon Cinch will work on a HOG back plate? Or do you need to buy the Halcyon BP for the system to work?

100% not. You have to have H backplate for its cinch adaptor.
The Scubapro backplate also works, but that's for hopefully obvious reasons.
There is a partnership going on to some degree. The new Halcyon reg is only cosmetically different from the SP by all accounts. BP but not wings same, spring straps same.....
