Today we went out to Molasses. Flat calm seas and about 50-60 feet of mostly blue water and a light current.
We decided to scooter/snorkel and grill today instead of diving.
We made the right choice. The highlights were amazing.
3 Eagle rays with a huge remora underneath one of them. The rays stood with us for about 20 minutes.
Free swimming goliath grouper that stopped right on the sand and waited.
6-8 foot carib reef shark with about 20 fish following him/her around(yellowtail). This baby was a monster. Funny divers were below us looking in a crevice and never saw it.

Hats off to FWC for stopping a boat from illegally fishing in the SPA

it was gorgeous out there today. we dove the blue hole; the dropoff abeam sand island(within the molasses SPA). only one dive as the boat owner had a canine medical issue(dogs are fine) and we returned early. nothing exciting, we should have stayed shallow! two tanker @ mo tomorrow after your sightings today!! are you diving tomorrow?

Sounds great! Going down to Key Largo in two weeks, this will be our first time diving the keys. Sounds like Molasses reef is a must see.
