Hi Folks!

Heading to Maldives in early August and wanted to get a best guess on what the temps will be that time of year. I would expect 80+ but wanted to get input from regulars to the islands.

Thanks!

29-30 C or around 85F

You can sometimes get colder currents coming from deep water when diving the kandu (channels) but inside the atoll it's relatively shallow and very stable at around 85F even at 100ft.

The water may feel colder if it is raining or windy though but that is individual perception. I dive in shorts and a vest all year round and don't have issues with cold- but I also know what cooler water feels like having dived seasons in NZ.

I weigh about 165 pounds and am 5'10.
