July is the month of the Great Annual Fish Count, so this month is a great time to announce CHUM becoming a REEF Field Station! This means that CHUM can do Fish and Invertebrate ID classes and a resource for information on fish count surveys.

REEF is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on the conservation of marine ecosystems. For more information about REEF, click here.

On Tuesday, July 31st, come to the Stag's Head where we'll grab some drinks and watch a REEF webinar. This one is called The Blennywatcher. The webinar begins at 7pm so we'll gather around 6:30. The webinar itself lasts for about an hour. We'll be in the area near the Oak Room right across from the baaarrrrrrrr.

The instructor will be Anna DeLoach. She has always had a soft spot in her heart for Blennies - learn all about the little fellas from a true blenny lover! She'll cover blenny families and behavior from her adventures around the world. Anna is a renowned videographer and naturalist, as well as a REEF Board Member, and also hosts a blog about marine life at The BlennyWatcher Blog that you're bound to enjoy.
