Hey All,

We're looking to plan a yacht trip somewhere around the Caribbean. We've got two divers and two non-divers (but they do snorkel).

Can anyone make any suggestions for locations and/or companies to look at?

I haven't had a chance to travel much so I don't know all the great dive sites out there. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks,
WL

The BVI is the yacht charter capital of the Carib. The diving there is good to very good, and easy for charterers with free moorings on each dive site. Very compact area and protected waters (easy chartering and diving). Most of the charter cos can recommend a place to rent tanks/gear or suggest a Dive op for rendevous dving.

After doing some research and you think it's for you, post your questions in the Lesser Antillies Forum, for some great advice/recommendations.

Places to start:

BVI Yacht Charters, Tortola
Charter Experience Required - Luxury Crewed Choices | The Moorings
Bareboat BVI: Yacht Charters and Sailing Vacations

DiveBVI does rendezvous diving. They'll meet you at the dive site with tanks/whatever gear you need. Rendezvous Diving | Dive BVI There's a couple of operators on Tortola that do also. If you charter a smaller boat for just the 4 of you, they likely won't have a compressor on-board so it's the best way to get some diving done.

The BVI's are good, easy, shallow water diving. For the snorkelers, a trip to the Baths on Virgin Gorda is worth it. Also there are several dive sites with good snorkeling also.

You might look at Cuan Law also - it's not a private charter but they offer some other non-diver activities. It's a big, stable boat also. http://www.cuanlaw.com/
