I searched a bit and didn't see any explicit mentions of this:

Took out my 5-year old Suunto Vyper 2 (purchased from a registered dealer in 2007 & registered online) in preparation for a trip earlier this summer and it started showing variable depths even when not wet. :worried: Took it to my LDS and he told me that this "ghost diving" is a known problem with some older computers, mostly Gekkos for him. He sent it back to Suunto/AquaLung for me and, lo and behold, they replaced it free of charge with a brand spanking new Vyper Air a few weeks later!

Great customer service - wanted to share!
:thumbs-up
