Hey guys. I currently live in DeLand florida, and i really need someplace close by, to go pole-spearing. I don't have access to a boat. and need a off-shore alternative. Im fine with getting what ever licenses i need. Im just looking for the closest possible place i can go. thanks for the help.

The closest to you would probably be Vero Beach/Wabasso. You can do a search on this board and Spearboard for viz conditions, but beginning summer months are the best. Ft Pierce also has some spots but it's not as close. Watch the weather, rainfall, tide tables, and wind direction to get your best chance and go with a buddy to hold your dive flag.
