How often should I be removing and re-lubricating the TTL cable? From my standpoint it could stay attached to both the strobe and the housing indefinitely but I doubt that is the best idea.

a-marshal,

Ideally you should remove the cord after each use and recap the ends. Also replace the caps on the strobe and housing. If you leave a cord attached for an extended period of time it can get frozen in position and/or be very hard to remove. This can be caused by saltwater corrosion between the threads.

Using a product called Tef-Gel will help prevent this problem "If you leave a cord attached for an extended period of time it can get frozen in position and/or be very hard to remove. This can be caused by saltwater corrosion between the threads."
