So what's the difference between the two besides it appears to me to mainly be the algorithm. They both are the same cost once you factor in the transmitters. So which would you choose and why?

I'd buy the one with the best deal online or at the shop. Buhlmann or Haldanean, either algorithms will keep you safe if you don't push the bottom time limit.

Aeris Elite T3 is basically the same computer as Oceanic VT3. Just the screen layout is slight different. There is another thread comparing DG03 to VT3, take a look at that one
