Help Save the Olympic Scuba Diving Basin in Montreal

Asking all North American Divers to join our facebook site (although most in French) to help us fight the government of Quebec from shutting down our Scuba Diving Basin in the Olympic facilities built in 1976 for the Olympic games in Montreal. A unilateral postion was taken by the organization running the pool and dive basin and notice was given mid November 2012 for a January 1, 2013 closing!

We need your support to keep the one interior scuba diving basin in North America OPEN!!!!
( depth of 50 feet, 15 meters ).

As a anglo in Calgary, not sure how joining your facebook page would carry any weight?

Hi there Ken T.
I'm an anglo in Montreal but its not about language. We are trying to get as many people as possible to join the page as the media are watching the numbers. I'm waiting for our action plan to come out any day. Our diving governing body is heading that up. Just asking for people to join for numbers, no more than that !

Joined the group as requested. I hope it helps. I would travel to Montreal just for this pool an d the chance to dive in it. Of course there is everything Montreal has to offer but this pool would certainly be getting a visit from me.

Well we had our demo, letters are written to all the power holding people and the media who are picking up on this.......

Waiting for the online petition as need a deputy to bring it to the national assembly (provincial governing body).

So its sit back and wait now.

Apparently there are other groups using the swimming pool portion that are involved in injunctions etc.

Keep you posted, probably after Christmas as everything will grind to a halt.
