Dive the mainland? Never. You get sand in your regs, bruises on your body from the surf and rocks, and plenty of pollution. Give me the good old stairs at Casino Point... or better yet, a great dive boat at a great dive site. Tee hee.

Dr Bill - you've obviously never dived the Pt Dume pinnacles on a really good day. Tons of life, fantastic visibility, really interesting terrain and flat conditions. The swim out and back is nothing compared to the Casino Point stairs with classes during really low tide. My best shore dive of my life (including Casino Point as shore dives) was at Pt Dume last month. Next time you venture east across the big ocean and have time, we should dive Pt Dume if conditions are right
