I just dropped my Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 lens, and now the autofocus doesn't work anymore.

Did you use a bad word? The one that makes your mom say "Harold!!!"?

You mean &#&#%^&$?

That word?

Not if you like manual focus.

Does the manual focus work? Have your tried it, and taken some photographs, are they in focus and sharp?

I'm just gonna send it to Nikon and have it fixed

A lot of people prefer manual focus with that lens. It might be worth a try. (But the sprocket cost me ~$300, which is probably more than the lens repair).

Yeah, I fooled with that lens for the first time Bonaire last week. I couldn't do much with it.

I guess you gotta be lying on the bottom or holding onto something to focus? I couldn't do that in Bonaire.

Mine hunts a lot, but I don't usually mount a focus light, so that's probably the reason. I have an older version, so I am not sure they are comparable, but there is a little toggle on the side to limit the range it will hunt in. It is my favorite lens, but it can be frustrating at times.
