Atom 3.0 pony gas check

I just picked up a second transmitter for my pony bottle. I programed the S/N number and it reads fine; however, I cannot seem to swich to tank 2 to check the pressure. Can that be done on the surface, or do I have to be under water? The manual says to press the "m" (upper left button) for 2 seconds while in dive mode. When I do that, the computer switches out of dive mode into time mode. Am I doing something wrong?

A) unit may not have buddy pressure check. Yes if SN less than 5000.
B) if yes, M for 2 is correct underwater - to check on surface, it's a battery check sequence - I believe it's press and hold A for 2
