Let's head north in June and have a dive weekend at Clear Springs Scuba Park in Terrell, TX.
You can either arrive Friday evening or Saturday (or Sunday I guess), just be sure to arrive before 8:00 pm or after 8:00 am. We'll be diving all day Saturday enjoying Clear Springs' 22 acre spring-fed lake.
Some of us will be camping (campsites are available on a first come, first serve basis), there are 11 RV spots available (check with CSSP to see about reservations), and they even have a trailer for rent if you're not one for sleeping on the ground (again check with CSSP to reserve the trailer). There are also several hotels nearby if that's more your speed.
As an added incentive, we've arranged for a brief presentation Saturday evening for those who are interested. Anna Clark, the chairperson of the Texas Chapter of Shark Stewards, will be coming out to speak a bit about shark finning and what we as Texans can do to help curtail the trade.
Night dives are available if you're so inclined. Sunday morning some of us will be doing a few more dives before we pack up and head home.
CSSP is showing the costs as $20/day to dive, $5/person for a night's camping, $8 air fills.
It'll be a great weekend to enjoy diving in a part of Texas that us Houstonians don't get to that frequently. It's open to everyone, so make plans to join us!
