Shaw's may not be an option for you. The surf has been up all week. Catalina's probably your best bet

Laguna has had some fair sized waves and the VIS has been way down.
Catalina is the better choice.
If you are taking the express over you will find a buddy at the casino point park, it should be quite festive this holiday.
