(DiverWire) The dive community has embraced injured veterans returning home and there is nice diversity of types of groups and diving focus created to share the underwater experience. One newly formed group is Operation Blue Pride, started by four ocean conservationists: Jim Abernethy, Sue Chen, George Schellenger and Shawn Heinrichs with the goal of OBP to embrace shark conservation while using the experience for injured veterans to heal and bond. As this is a newly formed 501c3 nonprofit group, OBP helps train wounded vets both physically and mentally to become involved in this undertaking.
