I was editing my Pelagic Magic dive photos from our recent Hawaii trip and I thought maybe there was a shrimp on this Salp Chain so I zoomed in. I think it actually looks like a baby turtle hanging on, or are my eyes deceiving me?! Kinda cool!

On our night dive last year here on Oahu we had a few octopus hitching a ride on a salp chain.

The best photos he got were in a sequence and the image below is copyright Chuck Babbit 2012:

Think that's some kind of shrimp or other such creature, given the size of baby turtles at hatching.

Shrimp or something like it was my first thought until I zoomed in and it looks a lot like the shape of a turtle but maybe I'm just wishing it was...

Dr. Bill, my best recollection I'd say it was maybe 3 feet long and 1.5-2" thick.
