Jado Trader, Guanaja
7/9/13
Another fun dive. We headed out to the JT as a storm approached. The storm caught us and created a "white-out" that turned us back to Bonacca Cay for a twenty minute delay.
Once the storm passed we headed to the JT for our first dive of the day. George Peel from Clearwater Paradise was our guide, usual boatman Jonathan got a chance to dive with us for the day while Witi manned the boat and topside operations.
Nice descent to the wreck lying in @ 108' of water. Water Temp was 78 degrees with viz @ 50'.
The ship rests on its side with a hole in nose. We swam around to the cargo hold that had some lionfish. Further penetration was prohibited due to a large colony further inside. George led us out another direction and we continued around the ship.
A green moray eel was spotted along our outer sweep of the wreck. George, Jonathan and my wife Ginger all went inside again while I filmed from the top.
The Jado Trader definitely needs some lionfish eradication. It would be easy pickin's and plenty enough for a fish fry afterwards.
An enjoyable dive to a lesser explored wreck. So many checkmarks on the bucket list from this trip.
