I managed to flood my 2 yr old LED mini 3 over the summer during a fresh water dive. Changed batteries, let it dry out, but to no avail. The LED light looks "cloudy" so suspect this may be root cause of problem.

Question: Can the light be serviced/repaired - and what is the likely cost? This is/was a great little light and would hate to give it up.

Thanks

As you've discovered electronics don't like water. I'm sure it could be fixed if Hollis was so inclined but imagine that would entail replacing innards and would not be worth it financially. I suspect you'll need to bury it and buy a new one. I'm sure at some stage Nick will give you an answer.

I'd call Hollis direct and talk to someone in the service department.....I have heard about some flooded lights being replaced for relatively little charge.

their number is: (510) 729-5110[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

I did call, and the very pleasant customer service rep said that they would be happy to "replace" the light for $60.00. I'm hoping that a more economical solution is available.

Was the flood operator error or manufacturer fault? If it was user error $60 is a pretty good offer, if it was manufacturer fault not so good. I suspect after not flooding for two years chances are user error. Like I said Nick, I'm sure, will be along shortly his efforts to keep customers happy are often above and beyond.
