Hi everybody

Can anyone advise me on Diving medicals?

I'm from the North East of England and need a dive medical before I start DMT.

Are GP's able to do it or does it have to be someone specifically qualified?

For your DM training a GP can do it.

If there are any concerns then they can refer you (or you can self refer) to a UKSDMC diving doctor.

However, once you start working as a DM in the UK you will require an HSE medical from an HSE registered diving doctor.

Hi,

Without knowing the agency you referring too, this might be rubbish.

if you going to be working, that means getting paid (cash or in kind), you will come under the Diving at Work Regulations which means a HSE medical. Speak to the organisation your going your DMT with for clarification of what they require as we'll.

kind regards
