I'm a Fish!
Inquiring minds want to know. We thought is was swivEL as in console SWIVel - but the name is used on both a wrist gauge and your Octo Swiv also. Probably other products as well?

Answer from Oceanic:
James,
Swiv means that the compass can be taken out and fitted into one of our
SWIV consoles.

Thanks!
Oceanic

Okay that's cleared up. Next.

OK, but does SWIV not fit into non-SWIV, and non-SWIV not fit into SWIV? Is there a way to look at , say, a compass, and measure it to determine if it's for SWIV or not?

I won't be able to sleep until it's all explained.

Ummm....Octo Swiv - Regulators

Oceanic introduces the perfect combination of magnetic attraction and accessibility with the highly-anticipated Octo Swiv with Magnetic Keeper...An innovative inline swivel allows for adaptability and flexibility

I think that it's a product line. SWIV. Note the all caps. The SWIV console and/or SPG does not swivel. Stupid and confusing name if you ask me.

This is the SWIV compass.

Will someone merge these two threads please...?
