Doc did you check out some of the other good bargains? This is for one person? Yes includes some dives etc. Antigua, Fiji are for 2-4 people at $100-150. What am I missing here please?

You're looking at the other items this eBayer has up for auction.

You're not missing anything, really. The seller has a lengthy selling history, good feedback and the very few complaints they have received resulted in refunds and seemed to be from ill-informed bidders. It looks very legit to me, he appears to be a known eBay user!

His wording and writing ability could be an issue. On the Fiji auction, I think all you get is the room, but if you read it differently, you might get confusified.

The AKR listing is pretty explicit.

The auctions are very new listings, he seems to run them for 7 days, so yes- the opening bids he posted are going to be low to start. The Fiji starting at $100 is interesting, especially when compared to the $500 starting bid for AKR. The only way it makes sense is if the seller knows the market and is pricing accordingly. I think there are a lot more people interested in AKR than Fiji, at least in terms of actual bidders. Most people who would bid on this likely would be buying another slot for their spouse/buddy, so this is a win/win for the resort. So, at retail, if you pay full boat for 1 spot, and manage to grab this at $500 :D, you're looking at a trip cost of 1200+500 = 1700 for two. This is more than their regularly offered 'buy one get one' promo, but if you're going alone and leaving your husband home to tend the cats, for you as well it is win/win because you don't have to listen him snore and complain about the _____.

You always have to do the math. For the fans of AKR, if you want to skip the single supplement and will take any dive buddy that shows up, this is a great bargain... so far.

I have run the eBay Charity Auctions before for the Roatan Majken Broby Children's Home. http://www.roatanchildrenshome.com/ There are usually very few bidders, so I generally started the weeks at $399. They usually sold for $550, the weeks offered at CocoView would go for $800 or so- which is a substantial bargain.

Here he sold a Roatan property that got only the opening bid: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-WEEK-4-2-BEDROOM-VILLA-ROATAN-PALMETTO-BAY-PLANTATION-/231161282263

8 bids: http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-DAYS-2-ROATAN-TRANQUILSEAS-ECO-LODGE-DIVE-CENTER-/331131750618

Fiji is even better... for a while.

Thanks Doc! I'll have to keep an eye out for one that really appeals.
