I'm a new diver who will certainly continue his education with more diving certs. I also plan on traveling extensively in order to log more dives in various locations. I'm looking for local diving buddys either for local or travel diving. If it matters I'm a 30 year old dude, super friendly and all about adventure and fun (and safety :cool2:).

Wow! Lurker heaven, 62 views and no replies??
Explore getting on the Dive Crew at the Newport Aquarium when you get your Advanced Open Water. There are approximately 150 enthusiastic divers on the Crew.

I don't know who all dives around your area. Facebook has a page for the Kentucky Piranha Patrol, which has a number of divers. Southwestern KY (quite a ways from you) has Pennyroyal Blue Springs Resort, a quarry where a lot of training takes place.

My 1st 4 dive trips (not counting cruise ship excursions) were with groups led by my old instructor to Bonaire, and you might find that approach agrees with you. Either the dive shop you're training with, or another in the area, likely does group trips, and that's a good way to go somewhere nice and get in some dives in a situation where you already know a couple of people.

I don't know what your local diving scene is like. I'm way down in Hopkinsville, KY; we've driven up to Newport Aquarium, and it's nice, but it's a long haul to get there.

Richard.

Dive crew at Newport Aquarium you say? Are those the volunteers?

Information:
Saturday, September 6th the Indy Dive Club (IDC) will host a Scuba Bash at France Park.
1:00pm~We will have a pot luck carry-in where divers will share their favorite dish(es) to share with others.
3:00pm-5:00pm~We will have minute to win it tournament to help people get to know each other.
At dusk (approximately 9:00pm)~We will show a scuba themed movie outdoors under the stars (if the weather is bad we will show the movie in a shelter).
Don't forget to bring your lawn chair!
The only cost to attend the Scuba Bash is the France Park front gate fee.

As an added bonus, the Central Indiana Meet-up group (myself included) plan to do a night dive on Friday, September 5th at France Park (Logansport, IN). So, why not plan to set up camp and attend all weekend?

For those interested, diving will be available Friday from 3:00pm-10:00pm, Saturday from 7:00am-10:00pm and, Sunday from 7:00am-5:00pm. You will need to fill out the appropriate paperwork and pay the dive fee if you choose to dive.France Park Scuba Diving The link is below, to find the appropriate paperwork, information, and if you prefer to pay online.

I hope to see you there!

I am located in the Dayton, OH area and am always looking for a dive buddy. PM me if you would wanna checkout a few of the local (albeit shallow and murky) locales

Look at the sticky up top of this group about the Meet n Greet. It's in Gilboa West of Findlay. You will meet a lot of people to become dive buddies with. 100% of my dive buddies I met at our annual Meet n Greets.
