Last Thursday while filming at night in conditions of strong surge and current, I managed to capture a green abalone (Haliotis fulgens) spawning. I started filming it initially because it was pretty mch out in the open and I thought it was looking for some tasty kelp, but on the second sequence I shot it started spawning. Since my cable TV show focuses on "Munching and Mating," I have filmed a number of different species "in the act"
