Hey all, I'm currently taking the SSI science of diving training course. I'm not too good at inventing my own word problems and wanted more practice for the math portion of the exam. Is the a resource for more practice problems and or realistic questions for me to practice with?
Thanks

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you but I will be following this thread with interest. This will be a course that I will be taking the first of next year hopefully.

Cutter do a google search for questions or exams for sience of diving ssi. i found it long ago adn it had a lot of good stuff in it.

Thanks.
Did a Google search and not too much out there. I did talk to my instructor and I'm probably focusing too much on the math part of the exam.
At least in pretty comfortable with all the formulas though.

For the most part the PADI DM exams have the same information in them as SOD and there are tons of practice exams out there for that. You'll get better results if you either google "scuba physics practice exam" or "divemaster practice exam."

I am sure there are more i found a couple of 50 question SOD tests in the past that had computations in them.

The first one is the most relevant but does not provide practice questions for the math problems. The second is just plain crap for SoD.

I've been thinking of putting together some practice problems that could be seen on the SoD but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Passed the test!!!!
The book left a fair amount of stuff out of the physics section that showed up in the test. You have to rely on your instructor to fill in these gaps. The gaps weren't exactly glaring but we're extrapolations of idea in the book that had minor details that could mess up your answer.
The rest of the test was mostly rote memorization from the book. There were a few questions that drew on material from open water, deep diving and Nitrox manuals.
All told, I would say it's a fairly tough exam equal to some I've taken at a college level.
Next step, Dive Control Specialist :)
