I travel there in January! I heard Galapagos underwater is amazing!

btw. I created this map of snorkeling places SnorkelingPlaces.com, for now i hav emostly places from spain, but if you know any great spots anywhere please feel free to create them on the map.

Yes supposedly there are beaches surrounding Puerto Ayora (Galapagos) that you can snorkel off of.
I'm going in December, but I'll mostly be diving while I'm there.
 
Good snorkelling places are subjective. I do a bit of spearfishing and freediving and some of the places my friends and I go would not necessarilybe suitable for a "snorkeller" - although we are basically using the same gear ...

We did a trip to the Poor Knights (New Zealand) a couple of weeks ago and it was great.
