Hi,

I am interested in a trip to Maldives Jan/Feb & not worried about alcohol etc.

Wondered if there are any non resort islands with really good diving operators, that will take me to the non commercial areas & maybe get a glimpse of a whale shark?

The resorts seem a bit yuppy for me, I am just interested in purely diving & dont really want to spend a week on a boat for now.

I have read about an old RAF island that is meant to be good value but not sure if the diving is that great from reports.

Cheers,

From what we saw when we went to the Maldives on a 9 day trip in March, going very far south….we didn't see any islands that would not have a resort on them. The big ones all did…and the small ones had nothing..hopefully someone else will give you some advice on it…..good luck.
