Aquarena Springs, now known as The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, in San Marcos is getting their volunteer diving program back up and running.

CHUM is headed over there to take the Diver Authorization Course on Feb 28th. There are a few spots open in the class.

If you'd like to join us, let me know & I'll get you more details.

The Feb 28th Dive Authorization Course is now full, but we're starting a waitlist. If you'd like to put your name on that, please let me know.

FYI, I did the class last Thursday 2/19 and despite the "constant 72 degree temperature" predictions, I was cold in a full 3 mil. Weather conditions were sunny, with air temperatures in the mid 60's and a breeze, making it cool on the surface. The water temperature according to my (and my buddy's) gauge was 66. We were OK on the training dives but cold. I think I would have been better off in a 5 mil than the 3 mil I wore. Sam Meacham, the instructor was fine in his drysuit.
