Did a spear fishing trip to the Dry Tortugas on the
http://ultimategetaway.net/ liveaboard June 27-30.
Had some great dives and did some good fishing. The
boat was great with plenty of room and the food was
fantastic. We did 12 dives over the two full days and
two dives on the way in. We did drift diving and anchored
dives. The largest fish took was a 45pound black grouper.
I took five mutton snappers with the largest at 16LBS.
two hog fish, two mangrove snappers and a 10 pound
strawberry grouper. The older more experienced divers
did the best with one diver taking six really nice blacks,
The living condition were a little spartan but when you
are going for the fish who cares. Air con and DVDs movies
made it easy to sleep and pass the time during travel,
Overall I rate this trip fantastic. Diver Tom

How were the currents? What depths? Cost? 450+? Where were you,? A large area of the Tortugas are off limits. Compressor aboard, what pressure? Oxygen? How were the no-seeums? Drift from big boat or dinghys? Lobsters (season)?

I put a link to the boat we used, which can answer most
of your questions. The captain knows the area well and
will put you on the type of dive you want to do. The
dives where from 40 to 120 Ft. Currents were sometimes
mild and sometimes not.
