Hello my name is Amanda I am going to be moving to Virginia Beach/Chesapeake area in October from Washington State and I would like to meet other divers. I was wondering if there is any dive clubs/ groups that accepts padi? Thanks.

The only substantial dive club is Lynnhaven. I was a member, but it was getting to be more of a social thing and I stopped going.

There are two dive shops in Virginia Beach and two in Norfolk.

We can get you wet.

Plenty of diving around here Amanda. As Don said there is the Lynnhaven club (on my list to go to for the first time next month) and Chesapeake Bay Barracuda's. Don put me on to some independant clubs which I am looking into. The Lynnhaven and Ches Bay clubs are shop based. I'm a member of Ches Bay, and I do like it, but let's just say they have their favourite boat and they can't understand why you would dive with anyone else (even if it is cheaper to the same location) and they always ask where you got your equipment if you didn't buy from them. As far as I am concerned a shop can ask, but not a club!
