I was at the LDS yesterday and asked about spring heel straps for my twin jet fins. I was told that Scubapro will be integrating spring heel straps with their fins in the not-too-distant future. The Scubapro spring heel straps would also be available separately for existing twin jet owners, etc. Has anyone else heard that this is on the horizon?

Heard nothing but curious!!! Sounds like someone on the board makes custom springs but would love to hear if they can help us SP twin jet fans!

I make them. they take the same springs that regular Jets do. It'll be a lot easier on customers to be able to just buy them on the fins & be done with it, but there are countless people without them now who might want to add them.

If you have any interest, see this thread:

The Twinjet Max spring strap made by Scubapro uses the same quick release plastic buckle as the normal rubber one. And I don't mean just the same fin-mounting system, but they do have the full buckle, so they can be easily opened/detached at both ends.

It is easy to install, and they are surely very easy to put/take off, but I had a situation once when the plastic buckle came undone during the dive.

After writing, I just realized this thread might have been about classic twinjets, but I'll click save anyway - maybe somebody else makes the same confusion as me.

If you remove the buckles from the twin jets, the ear on the fin is the same as on regular jets.

plastic buckles are a failure point. I have a hard time convincing myself that they're a good idea when used with spring straps.

Check out Piranha Dive Mfg they sell them for $10.49 to $11.18 each depending on size for Jet/Twin Jets.

you can't buy the raw materials for that. Worth a shot if you need any.
