Canon digital with Nikonos 105 strobe

I've heard that it won't work...it's not digital!
 
If your camera can be run in full manual and sends no pre-flash you may be okay using the strobe in slave mode. If your camera sends out a pre-flash you are pretty muched hosed.
 
It depends on which Canon camera, and what housing you will be using it with. It will work fine if you are using it with a housing that uses standard Nikonos connectors, like the Sea and Sea housings for the 10D and Digital Rebel. Your could also use it with the Subal housings.

However, using the Nikonos strobe has one major disadvantage over today's strobes made for digital cameras. You will not have the manual control over the strobe's output. (most of today's strobes have 12-15 settings where you can decrease/increase light output in 1/2 stop increments). The Nikonos is only going to give you a few options (full, 1/2, 1/4, not sure if it offers 1/8).
