Hi all:

I need a buddy for Avalon Underwater Park on Sat, Sept. 4. I'm on the 8:00 am ferry from Long Beach, so i should be picking up my tank & weights and ready to gear up around 9:30 or so. I was hoping to get in two dives.

About me: Im from No. Cal, certified for a year and I've got 20+ dives, mostly in Monterey/Carmel. So im a newbie, but I'm pretty sure I'll feel comfortable w/ diving in the park (kelp, etc.). I'm mainly interested in seeing marine life. If you'd be OK in buddying w/ me interested, respond or PM me. Thanks.

Enrique-
I'm a definite maybe to join you. Sounds like we're about the same experience level. I've dove at the Avalon Park once before, so I can show you some of the basics. I have semi-unsure plans to possibly go diving in Mexico with a buddy next weekend, but I think I'd rather do Catalina. Have you already made reservations on the 8:00 am ferry? In my experience it fills up pretty quick, especially since this is Labor Day weekend. If I go I'd take the 6:15am ferry from Long Beach (Catalina Landing), since it usually seems to be pretty empty.

Hi Jim,

I do have reservations for the 8:00 ferry - it was the earliest i could get my gf to commit to. If you plan to make it to Catalina, please let me know.

PS - great thread re: stuck inflator hose. I do remember that I performed the skill at some point in OW, but I hadn't thought about since. Will have to practice the quick dump/disconnect w/ the gloves on.
