I want to start carrying a backup mask. The left thigh pocket seems the logical place but I don't understand how I'd connect it to the pocket bungee. If I pull out the pocket bungee without the mask being secured, I risk loosing it. What do you guys do?

I just clip a double ender to the mask strap, and then clip the other end of the double ender to the bungee loop. Works well!

I have everything else in the left pocket clipped off - except the mask. Only deployed it a couple of times - never a problem. Made for a quick couple of deployments when my buddy kicked mine into the abyss one time, and when another buddy's strap exploded.

Some times I clip it some times I dont. The mask usaly stays in fine but it will depend on the size of the pocket. My pocket(DUI) is tight with the mask in if the pocket had more room and more of a chance the mask could fall out I would clip it more often.

I do the same thing as Paul..

I also clip the mask to a double-ender like paul does. I don't want it to fly away when I pull something else out of the pocket.

Thanks guys. I'll slap on a double ender. Call me a pessimist, but if I don't clip it off I'd probably lose it.

The other nice thing about clipping everything off is that you can "throw" everything out of your pocket, grope around for what you are looking for, unclip it, and then stuff everything else back in without fear of losing anything..
