Hi everyone!

I will be visiting Kona, HI beginning October 25th through the 31st.

I am an avid beach diver here in Southern California and would like info on some of your favorite beach diving spots. I also love to go night diving as well, so those 'special' spots would be greatly appreciated too. I might add, I do not mind surface swims to get to those spectacular reefs.

Here's another question: are you aloud to take game? Lobsters? Abalone? Scallops? Is there a HI website for Fish and Game? Reason why I ask, is that I will be staying in a condo with a full blown kitchen. I figure it might be cheaper than eating out, or hitting up Costco.

If anyone would like to dive with me, send me a private message and I will give you my email addy and cell number.

Thanks for your help!

A couple of well-liked spots:

Place of Refuge - aka "2 Step", in Honaunau.
Puako (end of the road), morning is best
Old Airport (I generally prefer north towards the "Air Tanks" mooring)

There are many more:

Dick Dressie's Shore Diving Site
Shorediving.Com's Big Island Page

Depending on how hectic our mainland trip winds up, I and/or my wife may have
some time to show you around. Our return to Kona is set for the 27th right now.
