Hello,
I just thought I would ask you all who live in the area where is the best place to dive near vortex springs. We are bringing a class down in the next few weeks to get them certified and wanted to take them on an openwater dive close to vortex. Can you all tell me the best place to take a bunch of new students for an ocean dive near vortex?

Try the Destin Jetties for a shore dive if you can catch it at high tide or if you want a to do a boat dive try Emerald Coast Scuba. I have got to bring a class there Oct. 22-24 for Open Water Certification and a couple of Nitrox certifications. I am going to try the jetties if tides is right, but if not I will go to Vortex. I think it is about an hour or maybe a little longer from Vortex to Destin.

ScubaTech in Destin also has some nice inshore(<5miles) and offshore dive sites.

Panama City. Several reputable dive operations and numerous wreck/reefs at different depths for different skill levels.
