3 mil max if you are going to 80+ and get into some cold water at that depth. i use a 1/2 mil and have had no problems with this setup. i have a 3 mil that i will be using in a few months when it gets a little cooler.

hope this helps

a 3 mil wetsuit is fine. Some people use a 5 mil in winter months after January to Feb. but the water really doesn't get much cooler than 72 degrees (yes, I've seen it to 60 with a deep water inversion but that is quite unusal). Just wear a hood with a 3 mil in the winter and you'll stay a lot more comfortable.

I live in Miami and I dive in a drysuit no matter the season. However, when I did wear a wetsuit, I basically used a 5 mil jumpsuit.

The surface water temps in the ocean range from 87 in August to about 72 (as low as 68) in the Winter. However, in the Summer, we get cold water upwelling that can bring the water temperature on the bottom (I am talking less than 100 feet often) down into the low 60s. :11:
