i'm currently planning a trip to truk in august 2005, i have read that the rainy season starts in august and would like to ask anyone that knows, how much rain can i expect, ie. will it be raining all day, every day or is it more likely to be showers/ storms lasting an hour or so?
thanks

Don't know about rainy season - but it's awfully close to Typhoon season! We've got the 23rd one of the season heading our way and it went via truk, I can't remember when the first one was this year but I think it was July. It's been real long season this year!

I'm hopefully going in December 2005 so I hopefully won't be envious of all those trukkies for much longer...

rainy season - typhoon season ... same thing.

Rainy season means showers off and on all day ... rarely will they get a steady rain all day long. And you'll get sun in between those showers (which causes a climate simiar to the one inside a steam-bath.) ... the temperature will be 30-33 all day every day.

August is a fine time to dive Truk ... http://www.mdaguam.com/truk.htm
possibly a helpful link.
