The water temp. is dropping, now about 78*F, and bringing in all kinds of fish, especially in shallow water off St Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. Visibilty is top to bottom out to about 45 feet.
It's a good time to get started in the sport or hit your best close to shore sites.
Deeper water shooters are doing very well with big grouper, snapper and hogfish in the Florida Middle Grounds and Elbow.

Not long from now the strong NW cold fronts will make it hard to get offshore so get out and dive while the getting is good!

:D This is a pic of one of my stringers from an inshore Gulf trip I did yesterday and of my fish from the trip (well, add 2 hog snappers to it, I fileted them before thinking to take a pic :) )...we limited out on gag/black groupers. The snappers were pretty thick too! :)
