One thing many people don't know about the armadillo is what gets them killed when they get hit and how they in their dying moments can gain revenge.

When a dillo gets scared it rolls up into a tight armored ball. They also have what is called a jump reflex. They jump straight up and ball up. Many cars and trucks have had exhaust system and transmission system damage done because they straddled the dillo rather than hit it with a tire or swerved to miss it.

Just an interesting tidbit from a biologist.

I've also heard the story about a motorist that got pulled over by a Texas State Trooper for a busted headlight. And when the trooper and the driver walked to the front of the car, they discovered the reason for the outage was a dead armadillo located where the headlight should be.
