I am planning a trip to the Fla Panhandle next summer with my new boat--yippee. Can anyone provide a source of GPS coordinates for wrecks and reefs along this vast cost. My starting area is Panama City, Pennsecola and then Destin and then travelling over to the Swannee River delta/marsh area and the the Big Bend area such as out of Keaton Beach. I have dived some of these areas many times off charter and off my 14 foot RIB and a few times last summer out of my OK kayak but this was mostly before GPS was commonly available(except for the kayak excursion) and the coordinates I did have were lost in a recent flooding of my basement--don't ask!!!!!! Coordinates out of Destin such as Amberjack Reef, Whitehill Reef, the liberty ships, the radar dome and out of the Keaton Beach area--any ledges and rocks of interest would be appreciated. Other info such as good marinas, hotels with dockside boat facilities etc would be useful as well. Thankyou in advance for any suggestions and recommendations. N

Check out Mike Barnette's book Shipwrecks of the Sunshine State. It has great wreck descriptions as well as GPS co-ords. You can contact Mike via https://www.mikey.net/aue

you will be just in time for the sinking of The Oriskany - which should be sunk (if there are no more delays) in June of '05 - I plan on being there for the sinking and I hope I can be one of the first divers to hit that wreck. There are a few sites that have current info on it. Let me know and I will pass on the links that I have for it.

Wow, that cool, see it sink and then dive it--maybe I could make that--see what my boss (wife) says--lol--after all she did let me buy a new boat! Thanks. N
