hi
we ran across a small Pod of Melon Head Whales ( Actually in the Dolphin Family ) quite rare and very shy.

I managed to pop off a few shots but due to the distance the quality is rather poor.

one is the escort male and the other is of the mother and baby.

Wonderful experience! I can't begin to tell you how jealous I am!

I must remember to play Lotto this week so I can leave the real world behind then come and dive with you (and the other gurus) to learn to take photos & explore these amazing areas!

If you want to see mellon head whales, there are 50,000 of them lying on the beach in Cancun today!

Or are they mellon head land whales??

Lucky you. Thanks for sharing them.

Very cool Chris! This first time I've "seen" one of these...they look so "naked" with out their nose.

Not as jealous as the other 30 folks on the boat who were not allowed to get in the water.

I would have gotten closer and better shots if another dive boat had not dumped 4 people in the water whom which were rushing the pod and free diving down with them. This is a major No no when working with most whales as they do not like having anything under them!

Very Very Very Very Very Very cool...... wow!

Excellent, Chris! Some day I hope to see creatures like that. Thanks for sharing.

How long are those things?
