hi all,
looking to do lots of diving (more than 2/day) over the course of
a week next august. we're considering budget resorts that have
onsite dive operations. they seem to be the backpacker type
(not sure what that means though) or intermediate class. for example
one advertises 7 nights for about US$500 and unlimited diving for
US$300/pp. maybe we should check out the lonely planet forums.
would like to get in 2 tanks per day off a boat followed by several
shore dives. is there shore diving? are staff so laid back in fiji
that it will be impossible to get in 3-5 dives/day, 20+ dives over
six days?
also, we are not sure about the fiji divemaster practices. we're both
photographers so we are looking for the freedom to dive our own
dive and go as slow as we want -- drift dives excluded of course.
some of the issues are feasibility, security for dive and uw camera
gear, electricity for battery chargers and laptop, mosquitoes (thats
me). thanks in advance for any experiences you are willing to share.
Cheers,
