Heading to a concention 1st of Feb. in Clearwater. Is there any good or even fair diving there? Every bit of help appreciated. 1. Dive operation? 2. Exposure suit. Directions. 3. What to expect in the way of marine life. 4. How far out to the reef (boat ride)?
5. Water temp.
Thanks in advance to all of you.

Water Temp in mid 60s. On a calm day you could get top to bottom vis in 80 feet of water. On a bad day you'll hit the bottom before you see it. The should be some big grouper in close. You can be in 60 feet of water in 45 - 60 minutes depending on the boat.

You could always hit the springs. Devil's Den is a safe & must see site for divers who like springs, Ginne Springs is always fun, and if you're looking for a bit more advanced spring dive - there's Paradise Springs but it is deeper, has an open cave system, and the bottom is silty.
