Roatan is easy to do yourself. Just call Taca and get a Saturday flight out of SFO. It leave early Sat Morning, so you need to be there Friday night late, so you go direct from El Salvador to RTB, then choose the place you'd like to stay, call them, and make arraigments. I have gone both ways, and found that when I make the arraingements the flight is at least as cheap, plus I get a better routing. Last time I used a travel agent to go there, they had me landing at almost every airport in Honduras(all but two) It took me 13 hours to get there!!! Shouldn't take any more than 9 from the West coast. You can also book flight direct out of Houston as well, but thats kinda a pain from the west coast as you almost have to over night in Houston to make the flight.
