Can someone tell me what gas mixes a rec triox graduate is qualified to dive? I don't wish to take the course, but I do blend gas for other people some times.

Merry Christmas

aren't they qualified to make their own choices about what hyperoxic trimix they'll be diving? they should have been trained on GUE standard gases, but i don't see why a fill station should read the card that narrowly and babysit divers for GUE.

instead of looking at what they're allowed to dive, wouldn't it be better to just say that they were restricted from diving hypoxic trimix and > EAN40 deco gases?

I just looked at the back of my card. It says "Hyperoxic Trimix, No Deco, No Stage". In class, the Spiegel Grove was given as an example of a dive where you might want to use 21/35. The bottom is around 150' but the top is 55' so you could keep a fairly shallow average depth and yet still want a gas with an MOD greater than 30/30.
