Me, Simon (simbrooks) and Rick (GDI) went to Paradise for the day to do some Dry Suit training for Simon. Rick brought along the Vid Camera for the fun of it. So I decided it would be fun to learn to use it. Besides video taping Simon learning to use his dry Suit needed to be recorded for history. I did surprising well. The hardest part was location awareness. Everything looks further away than it really is. All in all I had fun. Watching Simon rocket to roof of the cavern was really neat. Taping it was even better.
Simon did good all things considered. We did 3 dives 40 min each with good SI between.
only got to Vid the first 2 but that was fine. The last dive was a no vis dive anyway.
A class for 12 or 13 commercial dives showed up and showed us how not to dive.
It's not that they had bad buoyancy, THEY HAD NO BUOYANCY, They came down to the cave entrance and changed 50' vies to diving by brail in a blink of an eye. We just took it in stride. The part that really sucked was when I was doing my Safety stop at the top one of them dropped down and decided my back was a great place to stand. Picture this I'm hovering just off the bottom with a diver literally standing on my doubles. I don't think he liked it when I grabbed his fin and yanked him off. Of cause With the bad vis hi might have thought I was a rock. :11:.
All in all a good day. I'll post some of the vids in the near future I have to transfer it first.
See what you miss Andy when you don't take me up on my offer :eyebrow:

Video is a great training tool. I use it when I can in my classes. It really allows the student to see what you are talking about and it makes for a great party at the class end with everyone watching. I think I'll let Fred do the editiing as he shot it and I will leave it up to him to post it if he wants. Be aware Simon be very aware!

Oh and Simon did fine on his new suit, a bit different hey Simon
