i bought a Tilos panaramic Mask with the purge. (http://www.tilos.com/m590.htm) as well as a new BC, reg's & fins. the mask fits very nice and is very comfortable, much more so that my old US diver mask. the silicone skirt seems much softer.

during a try out session in a pool i noticed that i was having difficulty equalizing the mask (i was only in 6' of water). the next morning i had a small hickey between my eyes.

after looking at the mask i'm thinking the silicone skirt is so soft that the pressure is sealing off my nose from the rest of the mask and with the purge valve it is'nt allowing me to equalize the mask properly?

could this be true? is anyone else having similar problems, or is it just me? can i seal off the purge valve?

thank you for any input.

Sideband:
Try loosening the mask strap.
