I'm having a difficult time finding good information on starting to spearfish. I am going to Mexico and I want to spearfish while using tanks. I want to go out to Corbetena and try my hand at spearfishing in about 40 to 50 feet of water. I was thinking of getting a Mares Cyrano 850 pneumatic gun. Is there a weight limit for this type of gun, say 30 - 40# fish? There are a lot of yellowfin that area about that size. Do you need some type of reel on it or perhaps a float system or just the line that comes with it? I really am clueless about this.

a band gun will give you a lot more to work with than a pneumatic, although there is the occasional diver around here that uses one.
