I am interested in getting a back up computer and I have come across these two computers. The Suunto Alpha needs new batteries etc, for $70 and a sherwood the source for $30. I know both are only air and not nitrox. What are your thoughts and insights? Thanks in advance.

However, a friend of mine has a "The Source" and it seems to be a very reliable, bulletproof, if somewhat basic computer.

I would rather have a nitrox backup, but for $30 you probably cannot go wrong.

If I was buying one, I'd get a Nitrox so I could use it for such in case I needed it, (but I rarely dive Nitrox). But for $30 bucks, you can't go wrong. The source also uses batteries that you can buy at walmart for a resonable price.
